DAY #30: 30 PAINTINGS IN 30 DAYS
Whew! I did it! I created 30 paintings, and finished the challenge. This was a good experience overall. I learned to stick to my theme for the month. I shared my INSPIRATION each day. Thanks for your encouragement, visits to my blog, and even a few poems along the way! Also, thanks to Leslie Saeta for sponsoring this painting challenge. Here is my 30th painting. My INSPIRATION was a poster of a surfer in action. It is hanging in my art studio.

Here is my 28th painting for the January Challenge. This will be one of my last paintings for this. My INSPIRATION came from my nail polish...It was a light gray color. I matched this color in this painting, and added other colors to compliment this shade. I am showing this work as I painted it, but I flipped the photo and it looked cool that way too! "PAINTED ILLUMINATION" BY SUE MARRAZZO
DAY #24: 30 PAINTINGS IN 30 DAYS
For this mixed media painting, I was INSPIRED by a Jackson Pollock 1950's painting on the cover of a MOMA Art Book. At 1st I was attracted to the color palette in this work. Then I opened the book to the history of his work, and quotes by the artist. I was then also INSPIRED by Jackson Pollock's freedom, loose style, and experimental nature. He was a bold painter, and not afraid of making changes to his work.

This is #19 for this month's painting challenge. The INSPIRATION for this piece was in a MOMA book with many contemporary artists in it.
I came across a painting by
Morris Louis called "Pungent Distance."
It was full of warm bold colors, vertical stripes, and it "spoke" to me.

In this photo the paint is still wet. I wanted to share this as soon as I was finished painting this mixed media painting. The INSPIRATION for this painting came from 2 sources, again. The colors were INSPIRED by the colors in a new seed catalog that came in the mail. The 2nd source of INSPIRATION came from an article in a 2013 lifestyle magazine. The photos in this article were warm and glowing..I loved them! So, here is #12 for the painting challenge that I am doing for this month....

This painting was INSPIRED by a journal page in one of my mixed media art journals. I usually use these to experiment with colors or to demo techniques with my students. This painting has all new paint colors that I received in the mail a few days ago. This is drying, and I need to put a varnish over the painting yet.

This is my painting for DAY #8. It is definitely an experimental mixed media piece. It was created with collage paper, notions, acrylic paints, mediums, and gesso. It has a very ombre look to it...Hence the name, "Ombre Longitude."
