The Art Center School and Galleries in Mechanicsburg, PA. 

The show runs Nov.8th to Nov.27th, 2013. 

The opening reception is on Friday, November 8th, 2013, 6-8 pm.

A Charmed Life By Sue Marrazzo

This is a mixed media painting made with found papers, acrylic paints, acrylic mediums, found images and more. It has a weathered, distressed, tattoo-inspired feel to it. This artwork took a long time to create, it is done in many mixed media layers. The layers really give this piece lots of texture.

The NEXGen Youth Arts Festival By Sue Marrazzo

This past Saturday, I had the opportunity to be one of 5 judges for

 the Nex Gen Arts Festival (www.nexgenartsfestival.org ) in Harrisburg, PA. I also had the pleasure of meeting Susan Corbett, the PA Govenor's wife. She is a big supporter of the ARTS. The Visual Arts portion of the festival was judged in 3 age groups: K-5th Grade, 6th-9th Grade, and 10th-12th grade. The art was GREAT and it covered many different mediums and genres. I got permission to share some of the YOUTH WORKS OF ART WITH YOU! Please take a look, and you'll be so inspired....

Fall Members Show By Sue Marrazzo

Tonight, I was at the ART Reception for the Annual Fall Members Show at 

The Art Center School and Galleries of Mechanicsburg, PA. I  received an Honorable Mention Award for my mixed media work, "Self-Portrait." The exhibit includes 78 pieces of artwork, in many different mediums. It is a nice exhibit. It runs from October 18 to November 1, 2013. Thanks to the Judge: George Clark and the Art Center for your continued support!!!!

NYC SHOW AT BWAC BY SUE MARRAZZO

This past Saturday, I attended an artist reception at the BWAC's Pier Gallery in Brooklyn, NYC.  I was one of the participating artists in the current show, 

"A Convergence of Visual Definitions." 
The show runs until October 20th, 2013. 
This was an exceptional space, and I had the opportunity to show here twice. 
I want to THANK the show curators: 
Mary Beth Brath and Fritz Weis, and the BWAC community. 
It is a great venue!

Students' Collage Work By Sue Marrazzo

One of the classes that I am teaching is Creative Collage at the Art Center School and Galleries in Mechanicsburg, PA. In this class we use found papers, found objects, handmade art papers, and more. Each week we have a new lesson, and we work on this in each class. The students are doing such EXCELLENT Collage Art! Here are some collages by my Fall Students.

Sue Marrazzo Speaks at Good Hope Middle School

On Friday, October 4, 2013...I was asked to talk to 26, 8th grade students at Good Hope Middle School in Mechanicsburg, PA. The topic was, 

Careers in ART. I covered all the different ART careers that were trending. I got to show the students some of my ART and talk about being a gallery represented artist and ART instructor. Then, all the students created a one-of-a-kind collage ATC (Artist Trading Card) using all found papers. What FUN!

Fall 2013 Youth Art Class By Sue Marrazzo

Here is a look into my Fall 2013 Youth Mixed Media Art Class. This is just one young artist at work. In class we started with collage using found papers and a paper pattern and collaged onto a masonite panel. Then the students sketched and painted their subject on watercolor paper. After the painting was dry, the students cut out their painting and attached it like collage paper. Then in the final steps each artist used found objects, stamps, punched papers, glitter and more to finish their one of a kind mixed media painting! Nice Work Class!
