Here is my LAST painting for the September Painting Challenge. This work has layered colors, marks, and mediums. I used a painter's comb, many brushes, and handmade mark makers. I used 3 colors that I never use, along with 6 favorites. The idea was to experiment with color, and incorporate the likes and dislikes.

This is my 28th mixed media painting for September. For this one, I chose the color palette and stuck to it! I experimented with textured gel medium, heavy body acrylic paints, iridescent liquid acrylic paints, and other art supplies. 

I used flat brushes, a palette knife, and a feather to paint with. 

The Lesson Learned: Challenge Yourself...

It makes you work harder and grow as an ARTIST!

Here is #26 of 30 for the September Painting Challenge. I used hand painted collage papers, acrylic paint, gouache, acrylic gloss medium, ink, found papers, and some other art supplies. This is a very layered mixed media painting. I was able to use 2 new art supplies, along with my others. I used a new jar of gloss medium by Tri-Art...it had a sticky-syrupy consistency. The other was a new Catalyst wedge painting tool. Check out my latest work of ART....

This is my 24th painting for the month of September. It is a mixed media painting created on my kitchen stove. I used a free newspaper, a vintage word book, acrylic paints, and matte gel. I experimented with colors in this one. The colors were titanium white, burnt umber, medium gray, green gold, pale umber, pyrrole orange, ivory black, iridescent gold, and blue glitter paint. 

I never thought much of green gold...but it works here. 

It's one of those funky colors.

Sue Marrazzo Speaks On Career Day

Today, I had the opportunity to speak to 2 classes of 8th graders for CAREER DAY. I spoke about ART as a profession, careers in the ART field, and my mixed media ART. At the end of my presentation the students created a collage ATC (artist trading card). Take a look at these photos taken at Eagle View Middle School in Cumberland County. Thanks to the ART teacher, and all the students...you were all so gracious and attentive!

Yesterday, I had the honor of painting at the Governor's Mansion for Harrisburg's Gallery Walk. I was in the rose garden for the afternoon. I was inspired by my surroundings. It was so nice to share my art with so many guests. What a great turnout! I met the governor and his wife...

This is my 15th mixed media painting for the September Challenge. I am halfway there! This painting is truly an experimental work of art. It is like nothing I have ever created. I painted with acrylics mediums, I used small detail brushes, and some new supplies. I loved the Dick Blick brand heavy body acrylics for this one...Iridescent Gold is a new favorite!
