Here is my 5th collage ornament for this holiday season. "Let It Snow!" was created using music paper, a foreign newspaper, a map, handmade art papers, found collage items and papers. It came together nicely and it is an original work of art. Snow would be nice...but not a lot of it!

"Appreciation" Tree Ornament by Artist Sue Marrazzo

Here is my 2nd collage tree ornament created for this holiday season. Appreciation was created using newspaper, asian art paper, an envelope, silver thread, buttons, tissue paper, ribbon, ink, acrylic paint, and a fortune from a fortune cookie. 

The fortune reads, 

"It is better to show appreciation than to take things for granted." 

This is something to think about today, on this Thanksgiving Day.

I just received a copy of... 
The National Collage Society's 2013 29th Annual Juried Exhibit catalog in the mail. This collage exhibit had 500+ entries from 6 countries and 96 pieces were selected for this online art exhibit.

I am thrilled to share this ART NEWS because:
1st--I am honored to have my collage, Teaberry Blonde, accepted into this online art exhibit.
2nd--This is my 3rd acceptance and that means I now have my Signature Status with the National Collage Society.
3rd--One of my collage students and sister DPP members has her collage accepted into this exhibit for the 1st time...'Congrats Shelby!!!!

Today, I was inspired by the 150th Anniversary of the Gettysburg Address by President Abraham Lincoln. I was making handmade collage note cards for a local art gallery. I first saw the picture of President Abraham Lincoln...and the rest of the papers fell into place in this collage. Honest Abe was created using found papers, handmade art papers, acrylic medium, acrylic paint and found objects. This is what I created...It's a One-Of-A-Kind work of Art, which is also a card. Take a look...
